Red Velvet Cake
Ingredients:
- Vegetable oil for the pans
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring (1 ounce)
- 1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1 pound cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
- 2 sticks unsalted butter (1 cup), softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
After adding the wet ingredients, in a seperate bowl sift togehter the flour, baking soda, baking powder.
Then add the flour to mixture bowl, and mix well.
Then pour into buttered pan and bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy!
Carrot Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3 grated carrots
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups oil
- 4 large eggs
Frosting:
- 1 box powder sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 3 tsp vanilla
Mix the frosting and cake mix in seperate bowls.
Then add 3 grated carrots to the mix, then bake for 80 minutes at 300 degrees.
Mix together the icing and add on top of the cake after it cools. Enjoy!
